Our YOUTH SPORTS PHILOSOPHY

There are many life lessons hidden in baseball, ones I've experienced first-hand. Through it all, I draw from my lifelong love of the game and the play-by-plays of my career that has me primed for paying it forward.

Working with younger kids, we focus more on the fundamentals and muscle memory, With older players, learning to accept failure is huge, along with developing humility so you don’t melt, mope or lose your composure when errors happen. I love helping my pitchers develop a presence on the mound that stands out- a presence that shows dignity, drive and endurance. We teach players how to sharpen their mental game; from preparation to analyzing opponents and situations, to distinguishing what pitch is right for the moment.

Owner/Coach Blessed Baseball

I grew up in Southern California in a close knit family. I am the oldest of 4 siblings. I fell in love with the game of baseball at 4 years old. I went on to discover the joy of pitching at 8 years and I haven’t stopped since. I originally signed with the University of Arizona but then was drafted out of high school by the Florida (Miami) Marlins in 2008.

I made my Major League debut in 2013 with the Miami Marlins and loved every minute of it.  Baseball is full of change and I went on to be part of the Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs, Baltimore Orioles, & Boston Red Sox organizations. My 2018 season was spent in Japan with the Chiba Lotte Marines. I was fortunate enough to play in two Arizona Fall Leagues (13' & 14'). I intended on pitching in Mexico with the Tijuana Toros but ended up having surgery for the 2nd time in my career. I have learned many valuable lessons during my exciting years in professional baseball. My goal is to give back & help kids understand the importance of the little things in baseball that play a huge role in development.

My family & I moved to the Birmingham area at the end of the 2018 season. I am a blessed Husband & Father of 3 beautiful children. When I am not spending time with my family or working I am usually enjoying the outdoors, shooting pool, working in the yard, at church or watching sports. I am very excited & honored for this opportunity to help make a difference for you in your baseball and life journey.

Thank you!
